Translations - Desktop Publishing
Because we are aware of the importance you place on the quality of the graphical form in a translation project, we have developed a specific set of procedures.
1. Conversion of source documents in an editable format
Specialised software applications for conversion among various formats play an important part in this stage. For example, we have often converted PDF files into Word documents during certain stages of the translation process. Thus, translators are able to work on the text without worrying about the source document layout.
2. DTP prior to translation
This type of work is carried out before the actual translation by creating sample pages for the translated text.
We pay special attention to certain essential aspects:
- page layout
- font size and type
- image size and resolution
- graphical element position and type
3. DTP during the translation
The translation process always includes the graphical processing of the translated text:
- text alignment and positioning
- text style and formatting
- text orientation
- overlapping of text and graphical elements
- inserted tables or columns
4. Layout implementation stage
Irrespective of the platform, PC or Mac, we are able to efficiently carry out the final conversion and integrate the translation into the required graphical processing software.
We pay special attention to the graphical processing of the translation. This has always been our constant concern and we have delighted our customers with perfect final products.
